READ

I was lost in some wilderness.
Tired and thirsty, I nearly died.
“Lord, help me!”, I cried.
And You were there by my side.
Oh, You saved me.

This is the song of the redeemed;
So, sing along with me if you’ve been freed.
We praise You, Lord, for all You’ve done,
and we praise You, God, for Your great love.

I sat alone in the darkest gloom.
Held captive by my chains of misery,
but You helped me to see.
Oh Lord, You rescued me.
Oh, You saved me.

This is the song of the redeemed;
So, sing along with me if you’ve been freed.
We praise You, Lord, for all You’ve done,
and we praise You, God, for Your great love.

I was a fool in my rebellion.
Oh, how my mind has been deceived.
Lord, I suffer in my weakness,
but by Your Spirit I’m relieved.

This is the song of the redeemed;
So, sing along with me if you’ve been freed.
We praise You, Lord, for all You’ve done,
and we praise You, God, for Your great love.

REFLECT

This song comes directly from Psalms 107; Please read that chapter before you continue.  That passage is an incredible song of praise about the faithfulness of God, how He rescued us when we cried out for Him, even though we had turned from Him.  "The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies never come to an end."[Lamentations 3:21-24]  "God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."[Romans 5:8]
Song of the Redeemed, is a personal take on Psalms 107.  When we receive a mature revelation of what Christ did for us when He died, we should respond by falling on our faces, because we are utterly unworthy.  We were completely hopeless, but Christ has rescued us and we are full of hope.  We were lost in a barren wilderness, but our Good Shepherd left the 99 sheep to find us, the one wounded.  We were crushed by guilt, under the weight of sin, but in Christ’s death all of our guilt and shame was placed on Him and crucified.  We are free, free indeed!
Therefore, "give thanks to the LORD, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever!"  I pray that you will have new revelation of Christ’s work on the cross, and allow that work to have its way in your life, today.  I praise God, for His faithfulness and I trust that as the truth of Jesus Christ is revealed to you, more and more, His praises will be on your lips and in your hearts.  If you do not yet know the joy of salvation in Christ, and would like to hear more about Him, don’t hesitate to contact me, or go to my grandfather’s website where the gospel of Christ is presented clearly.
